iPhone web app design and build
The iPhone is the best mobile phone for viewing web pages on the go. And no matter how slick the interface of the iPhone, on a normal website there is still some zooming involved in being able to digest the information on the website - which can put off users from using your website.
If you website has an online store, search facility or some other interactive feature core to it's function, then a bespoke iPhone interface could be the key.
It doesn't even have to be a whole website. As with the ECIL venue finder, an iPhone equivalent of the search interface and the search results was developed that integrated well with the iPhone Google Maps application.
Simply get in touch to find out how to get your website onto the iPhone.
Website design and build
I have been building websites since 1996 - the early days of the web. Since then the web has gone through many changes - but throughout that time businesses have seen the web as a low cost alternative to constantly updating and producing printed material.
All websites are designed and built to a high standard, drawing on your brand or can be developed alongside new brand development for your business - leveraging on the strengths of your business.
The websites are coded to conform to WCAG 1.0 priority 2, level AA compliance and include accessibility features to make the information more easily available to user with disabilities.
This in turn increases the visibility of the webiste in search engines - allowing them to digest the website information more easily and place them higher in search result page rankings.
Maintaining your website
In the past I had produced website with a simple CMS (Content Management System) which was fine for making changes to text and imagery on content pages. However it became apparent that business seldom had time or resources to use the CMS - or the graphical skills to maintain the high quality presentation of the website information.
Managed website solution
Now I focus on providing a low-cost managed solution where units are associated with any changes to a website after it has been built.
This frees up a business to concentrate on what it does best, safe in the knowledge that they can send me details of pages to update and that it will be done on-time and to the high standard that they have come to expect from me.
CMS development
I am looking into developing a new CMS and until it is ready a simple CMS solution is still available.
Microsite design and build
Do you have affiliations with any other websites that allow you to have bespoke section/page for your company? Such as a job board? If so, I have extensive experience in producing microsites for wide variety of businesses in my dealings with Michael Page International.
All the microsites have leverage the company branding and information to attract the attention of potential candidates.
Monster template integration
More recently I have produced a monster template for Adrian Evans Search & Selection in order to increase the exposure of his jobs vacancies to the widest possible audience.
The template was developed in such a way that when an applicant clicks to apply for a job vacancy from the Monster template, they are taken directly to the job application on the Adrian Evans website and submit their application directly to Adrian.
This allows the candidate to have a round-trip experience of the Adrian Evans brand and allows them an opportunity to visit any part of the website, even from the Monster template.
Web advertising banners
The majority of website banners I have produced have been animated gifs. Most of the banners on the internet are animated gifs, with Flash banners becoming popular more recently - however Flash banners take longer to develop, at a higher cost and some websites don't accept them.
I have recently produced a set of animated gif banners for Vector Art 3D which were well received by the client.
The suite of web-banners that Tony designed for Vector Art 3D, have an eye catching design that succinctly communicates the messages we required.
Tony was able to take out basic text and make it into a professional and attractive solution to direct customers to key areas of our site.

HTML emailers
HTML emailers have become popular in recent years, though they still provide challenges for businesses who want to send them out. In many cases it could be a HTML template for regular HTML emails or one off emailers with great focus and visual impact.
Whether you have your own HTML email distribution system, but need a well designed and build HTML email - or would like HTML emails sent out on your behalf, get in touch to see how I can help you.
Accessibility audits
I can provide simple accessibility audits of websites at competitively low cost. I use automated testing and physical testing as well as examining the actual website code and structure to determine any pitfalls in the accessibility.
The audit will enable you to see what action you can take to improve your website accessibility and whether I can help with any training or coding for your business.
If you need a more detailed audit I can get competitive quotes from partners for very detailed audits.
Training web teams on accessible issues
Many organisations have internal website developers/development teams that have their workload spread across many projects. And sometimes it is hard to break-off and deal with accessibility issues in one go.
I have been called in any times to do a brief accessibility audit and then train the development teams on what they need to change in order to make their websites more compliant/accessible.
This knowledge has served to improve the developers appreciation of accessibility issues and helped the businesses develop a strategy for dealing with accessibility issues when considering new projects.

Bespoke web development
Bespoke web development can take on many forms, here are a few examples.
CSS development
A client in Hungary develops web based software for banks that involved using complicated AJAX components in the interface. They had a strict deadline to meet and called on me to help them develop the CSS for the system, as their own team didn't have the skill set available.

Over a few days the main body of the CSS was developed, much to their relief, with the main developer having gained insight into some of the pitfalls encountered.
Job listing/application system.
A simple job management system was developed for Adrian Evans Search & Selection that allows him to add jobs to his website that become instantly available to anyone visiting the website.
Job application are then received through the website when a candidate applies and are sent straight to Adrian.
The key to the system has been keeping it as simple as possible for both the admin and the user.
Interface development
The Black Store was built on a generic eCart website system that was initially dull in it's presentation. Working with the Blacks Store I managed to develop a set of code and graphics that have improved the website appearance to the delight of the client.
